What a great start to the new year. It's rare that we can claim to have had 0 mm of precipitation this year.
To walk off our New Years sleep-in, we walked out to the western part of the dyke in Richmond, when I saw some movement:
| What's that in the foreground, admiring the view? |
| Coyote, hunting among the debris |
| Later on, we saw a second coyote, with a curious hawk looking for scraps |
| Lasqueti and Texeda Islands, hovering in the sky |
| One of the pump stations at the dyke, working hard to push water out to what seemed to be an alarming level on the seaward side. I suspected the water was freezing and not flowing out to the ocean. |
